No Child Without a Mentor

What is a Big

A Big is…

…a man or woman (at least 16) who has a heart for one-to-one mentoring.

…an individual who invests about 4 hours per month in a Little (child ages 6 – 14 years old) who is looking for someone to hang out with and learn from.

A successful Big is simply one who consistently shows up, pays attention to, and shares her/his activities with their Little. A Big is not perfect, just real.

A Big can be a huge difference for a child in
developing behaviors that will lead to a successful life.

Why be a Big

Exclamation Point - Hand Drawn RedBeing a Big is, all at once, an investment in the future of a child, your community, and in your development as a mentor regardless of your stage in life. Being a Big is the fulfillment of all the life lessons you’ve learned and passing those lessons on to the future generations of our community. It is the upbringing, mentoring, and support that you received growing up being put to use for a Little who needs it right now.

Be a Big because you will be taking a stand on a litany of social issues all at once in that you will be providing a secure base, self-confidence, and simple caring friendship to a child who lives, learns, plays, and interacts in this community. And all it take is about 4 hours of your time a month!

Meet with your Little only twice a month and still make a difference.
